I would say yes, unless they were to have a home outside. Box turtles will need at least twelve hours of daylight, and a lamp would ensure this if you were otherwise unable to provide those twelve hours. A turtle may stop eating if this light is not provided.
no because, they will get too cold and die :'(
Yes you do but that's for pet ones. I'm 99% sure that same goes for wild ones!
Yes, they do it all the time in the wild!
Of course, it is an essential if they are living indoors. There do not have a sun and these lights replace that for them. As experience, we didn't know our lamp didn't produce enough heat and our map turtle ended up getting sick because it couldn't bask to get rid of its bacteria. So yes, they need UVB and they need heat. :)
Yes
all you really need is a rock that is big enough to hold the turtle and it has to go above water to let the turtle climb out of the water and onto dry land to bask. Above to rock...there needs to be a heating lamp. If you dont have a heating lamp then put some kind of light over the basking area until you get one. Of course if you want to spoil your pet turtle then you can go out to the pet store and buy all different kinds of basking areas... What gives me an idea is that i go to www.google.com and type in water turtle habitats and look at the pictures.
You need somethink like a hampster tank With Big Rocks and Water in a container the turtle can suck on also need turtle food im not sure where you can get it but try Rite Aid
depends on wat kind of turtle but normally a heat lamp a filter if u want a rock and something the turtle can hide under
A pet turtle can be about a 50 years old.
I think so. My friend had a turtle as a pet.
Peter got his turtle from the pet store. He bought it at the pet store.
nope i dont beilive so. look on google and type in " do you need a lisense to own a turtle" and maybe it will give you better answers. :) dueces
Yes, but it's really not going to get hot enough for your turtle. Also, make sure you have at least TWO lamps, a heat lamp, and a UVB emulating lamp.
It depends on what your turtle's like. It may get overheated more easily than other turtles so it depends. Ask a professional - like a vet or a pet shop owner. Your turtle has certain needs like you do. Posted by Animal Lover
For a short period of time yes. Eventually you will need one if you want your turtle to be healthy and live longer.
You go to the pet shop and buy a turtle for about $50.00 - $100.00. (£20 - £40)
