there is no need to change the coil packs just to do routine maintanence
There is no plug wires on a J30, you just unbolt the coil pack that's on top of the spark plugs and then change your plugs, after your finnished changeing the plugs you just reinstall all the coil packs on top of the spark plugs, but becarefull you don't break any of your coil packs, they will cost you.
The purpose of a coil pack is to supply the spark to the spark plugs.
remove the coil packs then the spark plugs dont just drop the plugs when installing this will damage the electrode
remove coil packs from valve cover. they are underneath.
they are under the coil packs which are in the top of the valve cover, unplug the coil packs, take out six bolts, the wires should come out with the coil packs and you will have access to the plugs.
The spark plugs are located along the top of the motor. They are covered by coil packs so you must remove the coil packs first to get to the spark plugs underneath. #1 is the front of the engine. i know if you have the 5.4L V8 you will have coil packs. not spark plugs
underneath the plastic cover on the engine head are the spark plug wires, there are 2 coil packs there. the wires connect the coil packs. 2 of the spark plugs are under the coil packs and the other 2 are exposed...
you have to remove the washer bottle and the battery and the air duct then remove the coil packs then spark plugs easy
remove the coil packs on top the engine with a small tork bit then change plugs
