How do you replace knock sensor 97 Toyota Camry?

Wait until the engine cools down. Put your car in parking position, jack it up. Disconnect the battery. Make sure that it's safe to stay under the car. You can find the sensor the side of engine facing the firewall. The sensor has harness with only one wire connected to it. Disconnect the sensor remove the sensor. One some models the coolant must drained too, I'm not sure which you have. If your sensor is in contact with coolant you will have to put some sealant on the sensor's thread. After that tighten it (I thinkg it's about 42 N*m). Connect the harness, remove the jacks. Connect the battery, have a test drive.

How do you replace the engine coolant temperature sensor?

Different vehicles have the coolant temp sensors located in different places. Generally you will have to drain enough coolant so that the hole where the sensor is mounted won't leak coolant all over the place. Unplug the old sensor and remove it with the appropriate size wrench. Take the new sensor along with a new o ring or metal ring ( whatever your car came equipped with ) and thread it into the hole. Make sure not to cross thread the sensor or to tighten it too much. Your repair manual may have a specific torque spec for it and you should use it if it does. If not, use one finger on your wrench and only tighten it that much. Reconnect the wires to the new sensor. If it leaks later go back and tighten it just a little more. Some people use sealant or plumbers wrap, I prefer not to. If you use sealant make sure it's sensor safe and high temp. You will also have to wait for it to cure according to the directions on the tube before you can refill your coolant. Make sure to burp your cooling system and use the correct coolant in accordance with directions in your repair manual. Remember that antifreeze is sweet smelling and highly toxic and is dangerous to children and pets and should be disposed of properly; most local parts store will accept uncontaminated coolant for disposal.

Where is the temperature sensor Chevy Malibu?

That depends on if you are referring to the coolant temp sensor, ambient air temp sensor, 4 cyl, or 6 cyl. The coolant temperature sensor is used mainly for engine / coolant cooling, and A/C. The ambient sensor is used on some model years for A/C operation. Ambient locations normally in front of the A/C condensor. The condensor is the radiator looking component in front of the radiator. Coolant sensor vary by year and engine size. TechJK -------------------------

How does one change the coolant temperature sensor on a 1999 Honda CR-V?

It is screwed into the cooling system located very near the distributor (single wire leading into it). MAKE CERTAIN THE ENGINE IS COOL AND THE RADIATOR CAP HAS BEEN OPENED TO RELIEVE PRESSURE! Remove the wire lead - unscrew the old sensor - replace with new one. (Note: There will be some coolant loss - be prepared to make the swap quickly.) Make sure you use sealant on the the threads of the new unit.
