In the passenger side firewall - on the engine side. You need to remove the plastic shroud in front of the windshield / behind the hood to get to it.
Unplug battery for 30 minutes then plug back on that will reset the ecm
it does not have a safety switch you can reset. If the ecm (engine control module) detects no rpms it shuts down the fuel pump.
the ECM is located on the pass side dash, open the glove box to access ECM, also under hood by pass side strut tower to remove 10 mm wiring harness bolt.
Most are just screwed to firewall with a few plugs so its easy. It must be an ecm for the same engine, yr, fuel, etc and will relearn fuel curves etc.
You can reset the ecm with a scan tool or by unhooking the battery.
Just unhook the battery cables for 5 mins, That will reset the ECM
To reset the ECM remove the battery cable (s) for a few minutes. Replace cable. ECM has been reset.
Where is the ECM located on ford expidition 4.6
