You need to have someone with a scan tool check the airbag system for trouble codes. The airbag system is not a place for do it your selfers.

It could also mean there is a faulty airbag clockspring, this is located in the hub of the steering wheel, and can cause an open circuit which allows the light to stay on. We then noticed that the horn was nonfunctional. After doing some research online I found information on the recall, it also mentioned that the cruise control. Lo and behold, the next time I drove it, the cruise control didn't work. I contacted my local Dodge dealer and the problem was fixed at no charge!! The airbag light is off, the horn and cruise control both work.
