Gravity does not generally affect sound. Gravity can cause materials (like certain gases in air) to be compressed because of a difference in density. And as we know, more dense materials usually conduct sound better than less dense materials. But we generally don't see gravity as a factor in anything to do with sound.

Not really.

Sound needs a medium to exist,as sound is simply vibrations within that medium.

Gravity merely acts as the force that compresses molecules to the point where they act like a fluid and so can carry sound waves. With no gravity, sound would need some other force to compress the particles together to make them act as a fluid.

In practice we can pretty much totally ignore gravitational forces on the particles while they re vibrarting as they are moved far more by the refraction caused by temperature differences in the air.

Does gravity affect soundwaves? I am wondering for my brother, not for Biology. I got my questions mixed up. Sorry about that. So, I still would like an answer, please.
