Why capital punishment is abolished in pk?

Capital punishment has not been abolished as yet. It is on hold. The current PPP government does not want to execute anyone through capital punishment during its tenure. This is a way of protesting against the (supposedly) unlawful execution of their ex-chief Mr. Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto.

Explain the difference between retribution and capital punishment?

What is pro capital punishment?

pro capital punishment is when you are for killing the person who murdered without reason and kidnapped and killed because he had a hard time growing up who hijacked a car and didn't want the person to identify him so he /she killed him/her and because you were strung out on crack --ice--or whatever and the person you mugged fought back so you had to kill them this scum of the earth should be put to death, then my friend are pro capital punishment

Why can't victims decide the capital punishment for the offenders?

In America capital punishment is usually reserved for murderers. In that case the victim would be dead and therefore would not be able to decide the capital punishment for the offenders. If you include the families of murdered people as victims you wouldn't want them to decide the fate of a person's life. A person should get the death penalty based on aggravating and mitigating factors and not in whether the victim want's them to be put to death. This puts more emphasis on revenge, which is personal, and less emphasis on retribution, which is more just.

What exactly is the death penalty?

It is the ultimate legal punishment where a suspect, after being proven guilty is executed by the governing law, such as a state or country. In the United States the citizens of the individual states decide if they want and will allow capital punishment for their worst criminals. In fact, the United States is one of the few industrialized nations that still allow the death penalty as punishment for capital murder.

Do baptist church teach capital punishment?

Baptist as a denomination is made of autonomous churches, each made of individuals seeking out their own salvation as encouraged by Paul in the Bible. Old Testament laws had capital punishment and it was not addressed in the New Testament. The New Testament does encourage us all to have love and to express God's love to our fellowmen. The topic of capital punishment is not only a personal one but one of political consequence. Personally I am scared of capital punishment because I would never want to condemn someone to death and find out later that the person was not guilty of the crime of which he was condemned. Yet, I have not and probably will not fight against the law.

Why did the convicts move from Britain?

What crime would you have to do to get death penalty?

Except for extreme cases such as treason, we no longer use capital punishment for crimes other than homicide. We used to execute people for rape, but this is no longer the case. If you want to find out more you can read up on the Capital Punishment Debate on Wikipedia. There are references to other really good articles that go into great detail, look for scholars such as Louis Pojman or Hugo Bedau.
