Not legally, but disregaring the law,a catalytic convertor can be removed from any vehicle.
It will not be legal for on road use.
Salvage yard or dealer for the transmission. Transmissions can also be purchased at any auto parts store. I would not install a used catalytic converter. Install a new one, sold at any auto parts store or muffler shop.
its the big can that's closest to the end of the exhaust pipe. the one about halfway through is the catalytic converter, and the things in front of that are preconverters
It'll be mounted to the exhaust pipe at some point underneath the vehicle. That's about as good of an answer as can be given without the make and model.
