No, I think they started using simple and not so great computer controlled systems in 1987..
*************************************************
Rule of thumb is if it is fuel injected it has a PCM or ECU (same thing) a carbuerator, no. There are exceptions but you won't go far wrong with that. The last American built car with a factory carbuerator was some Oldsmobile , Buick , Cadillac and Jeep in 1990. Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptors until 1991. Cadillac Seville had EFI as early as 1975
YES it does.
no it had a computer controled quadajet
230 HP@3800 RPM
YES it will fit right in. But now hears the problem that you will have. The 91 is a fuel injected computer controlled engine and the 86 is not. Therefore you would need the entire wiring harness and computer plus the fuel pump that's in the 91 fuel tank. You will run into all kinds of problems trying to get the 91 engine to run in that 86 truck. It would be cheaper and easyer to get a carburatored engine and put it back in the 86 truck.
yes they are the same.
standing in the front of the engine, It will be on the left front bottom SIDE of the engine.
You can put that engine in a go-kart ,IF YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING.But as far as a direct bolt in NO. You would have to USE the 2004 transmission, computer, Fuel pump, complete wiring harness for the engine and transmission. speed sensors and wiring harness among other things. It would be a costly project to start and to finish.
