Should have "air ride" air bags The rear struts are an assembly comprising a hydraulic strut with variable actuation / dampening and an air spring, all in one unit. They are not customer serviceable, and must be replaced as a unit.

your air bags need replacing. they only last an average of ten years by design. FWIW< please dont put "fix a flat" in the schrader valve or try to replace the shocks with air shocks(neither will work) there are several companies that sell replacement bags.

How much does it cost to get a 1994 Lincoln Mark VIII's rear air suspension fixed without replacing the shocks only the little cable?

Silly boy... buy the air hose repair kit - it is a Ford part - I think about $15 - the shocks have nothing to do with the rear air suspesion - you must have a leaking air line - fix it.

How much are shocks?

shocks are usually pretty inexpensive. Just purchased two rear shocks for a 1994 S-10, usually they're about $30-35 and were on sale for $17 each.

Does a 1991 Lincoln Continental have both struts and shocks?
