IAC sits on the top of the motor.
It has an IAC ( idle air control ) motor on the throttle body.
Unplug the wiring harness from the iac. Using a adjustable or a 1 1/4" wrench remove the iac.
There isn't a separate IAC motor. The electriconic throttle body assembly has a built in motor that opens and closes the throttle plate. The throttle body is not repairable, it must be replaced.
if you mean iac motor, it is located on the upper intake at the throttle body. if you mean iac motor, it is located on the upper intake at the throttle body.

where is the iac motor located in a 1997 ford f-150 pick-up (6 cylinder, standard). Also, what steps are taken in order to take out the old one and replace with a new one.

the emc is shot out by a faulty IAC VALVE .
There is no IAC Valve on the Tundra V8s. The ECU controls the idle speed via the Throttle Position Sensor.
