No, there is no special filter. Use the same filter you would with conventional oil.
If it has a Cummins engine, you use a 1/2" drive breaker bar or ratchet to loosen the drain plug at the bottom of the oil pan. You'll want to punch the oil filter (it uses a suspended canister filter) and let that drain before removing it, then you'll remove the oil filter with either a filter wrench (the Cummins oil filters use a #4 filter wrench), large filter pliers, whatever. When you put the new oil filter on and tighten the drain plug (Cummins recommends 35 lbs/ft of torque for their drain plugs), you can either pre-fill the filter with oil or fill the engine up until the dipstick reads full, then run the engine for about a minute to fill up the oil filter, then top the engine off.If you have the MaxxForce, you'll use either a 1-1/4" or 32mm socket to loosen the drain plug at the bottom of the oil pan. The filters on these are internal, and you'll use a 36mm socket to open up the housings.
You would use the same oil filter for both synthetic an d regular oil in your jeep.
No, Dodge just has a contract to use the Cummins engine.
No, use exactly what Cummins recommends and nothing else.
The same type filter you use with conventional oil. Just make sure to use a quality filter such as Wix, Purolator, Motorcraft, AC/Delco, Bosch, Mobil !, etc. Avoid a cheap filter.
Yes, most definitely. Just use the correct filter recommended for your car.

The volume of oil running through the filter while the engine is running. The threads might be the same on the filters but the diameter will most likely not be. This will not create a proper seal if the inapropriate filter is used causing oil leakage and engine ceasing. Please do not try to use a different oil filter than what is recommended by the oil filter manufacturer for the specific vehicle.
