Yes. The hose is there to give your engine fresh air and helps the engine breathe more efficiently, and therefore run more efficiently. The drop in mileage will not be dramatic, but in the long run, this can cause more problems than reduce gas mileage. If you're not confident changing the hose yourself, any Toyota certified mechanic will be happy to do it for you.
You replace the hose, and bleed the brakes.
Open the hood, on the passenger side, behind the carb on the firewall is the filter. slide the clamps down the hose, pull the hose off the filter. Do opposite to reinstall.
check the air snorkel hose that goes from air filter box to the engines throttle body if this hose is cracked or not securely mounted it will suck in air and noe register with the mass airflow sensor built in-line with hose. you may have to take hose off and physically bend it to find cracks in between ridges in hose. if you find a crack duct tape is a quick fix until you get to dealer to get new one
you got to buy a fuel hose removal tool from auto parts store, stick end of tool in hose by filter and press, this unlocks ring that holds hose to filter........good luck.......b
Try twisting the hose before pulling. Worked like a charm for me on both ends!
this is for a 2000 mustang 6 cylinder thank you clamp has forced the filter to form a groove in the hose that prevents it from pulling off, It will come off with some force, but may damage the end of hose making it leak when you connect to new filter. If there is enough hose just cut it off close as you can to the old filter and install new filter in the freash cut hose.
Undo the top hose clamp and the bottom hose clamp then twist the hoses off the filter put in the new filter and put the hoses on reclamp and your done
it is located on the passenger side of the vehical. it is a silver, cylinder shaped object with a hose attached to top and bottom. there are screw clamps around both hoses, probably Philips. unscrew top hose clamp and pull hose off gently. be aware, you should have towel, there is a bit of gas store in hose and filter. after detatching top hose, pull filter from its holder and loosen bottom clamp and remove filter from hose. follow same steps in reverse order when installing new. there will be plastic cups covering opening of new filter, these should be removed.
It is supposed to blow out the outlet hose. I would assume you have a leak in that hose.
It is a hose that connects from the air filter to valve cover that stops contamenents from staying in the engine.
It is either in the air filter box or on top of the motor where the hose from the filter connects. It's the size of your fist and has a thick screen that covers the hose from the filter box.
pull the filter out and hose it off, replace the filter, if you vaccum your pool more frequently it should help keep the filter cleaner
