He may just be possessive of you. == sometimes the guy cares too much but sometimes it is that he loves youand he doesnt want anyone to take you away fromhim. if he's trying to control you though that's a diffirent story. == Jealousy is a common emotion however, there is no room in a relationship for negative jealousy. If he is getting upset and confrontational when jealous then he has insecurities and self esteem issues that he will need to deal with it as well as this could become a controlling issue. If he begins trying to keep you away from other guys in general because of his jealousy you need to address this as it is unhealthy and wrong - it would be controlling and possessive.
