It is actually illegal in someplaces to boil them alive.
The more humane way to cook them is by first freezeng them that way they don't suffer.
There are studies demonstrating that lobsters feel pain and also suffer.
Let's be responsable! if we kill to eat, the least we can do is provide a decent death to the animals. We owe them that.
Yes. However, if you mean at the start of cooking it, then the answer is no. Frozen lobster is best used in areas where FRESH live lobsters are not available.
after or before no difference. but if you do it before put then in fridge to calm them down first they will be slow then
No! Turkeys have to be beheaded and plucked before cooking.
No, there is no difference in the process used. However, it isn't advisable to cook dead lobster unless you killed it immediately before putting it in the pot. Whole lobster spoil quickly which is why they are stored alive before cooking. As for whether it's humane to put a lobster in boiling water, their death is just a quick as any other form of death so I believe it's as humane as you will get short of letting the lobster live.
To catch lobster, you have to apply for a license and comply to all sorts of regulations, contact the proper authorities for further information.Catching lobster is done with a so called lobster cage which is baited and lowered in the water after that, you leave the trap be for a few hours and hope for the best.Cooking a lobster is best done in a cooking pot large enough to hold the lobster without a problem. Fill the pot with water and a little salt and bring it to a boil. insert the lobster (alive of dead) head first and cook it for about 12 to 25 minutes depending on the size and weight of the lobster.
Like most shellfish, lobster meat is very delicate and cooks fast. I usually steam lobster oppose to broiling because it tends to come out dry, rubbery and overcooked when broiled. Lobster meat should be thawed out before cooking and can be done quickly by soaking in cold water. Only steam lobster for no more than five minutes and that's whole lobster with the shell. If you're cooking only lobster tails then steam for 3-4 minutes. For a great dipping sauce melt butter, add lemon and diced garlic :)
When they die, their internal organs begin to break down and release toxins into the surrounding tissues. This makes the "meat" inedible. Also, it is a good idea to "Purge" the crayfish before preparing them for consumption. To do this they need to be alive.
How long has it been dead? When you buy lobster tails, ONLY, in the stores, the reason they are there is the live lobster died before they could properly package it. The tail is the only part that is safe to eat from a "dead" lobster. They have been dead for a VERY short time.
Alive and Cooking - 2008 is rated/received certificates of: Australia:G
If it was refrigerated a short time after preparation it should be okay.

Forever. Seriously, though, if you are asking about eating a lobster that has died, they start to deteriorate rapidly after death. Unfortunately, there are seafood companies that will sell lobsters (cooked and/or frozen) that died in their tanks - and you have no idea of how long they sat around before being processed. I believe they are called "stills". Lobsters are best if they are live until right before cooking.
