If you are putting it on the same make model as it came from it will not need to be FLASHED, If it will work on the vehicle you are working on but came from A different model vehicle you are working on I would try it first, Before I pay to have it flashed, If you hook it up and it needs flashed it will not hurt anything, It just means that it spoke A different language, and you must send it to school (FLASH IT). Good luck, Jamison.
Reprogrammed, no. The code cleared to turn off a check engine light, yes.
The rev limiter is part of the engine computer programming. The computer would need reprogrammed to change the rev limiter.
You do not get rid of the speed limiter. It is in the engine control computer and you would have to have it reprogrammed.
If you got the correct computer for your car no mine plug and played i picked mine up from a junk yard when mine died on me.
O2 sensor(s) needs replaced.
You need to take your vehicle to a dealer to have it reprogrammed, WBMS
I would be sure to check all the sensors , one is unpluged or broken off. I have also seen this happen when an engine form a different model year is installed. More info on the car would be helpful True, if the motor is from a different year the computer may need to be reprogrammed to accept the variance in sensor input
It has to be reprogrammed! Now if you get the computer, key cyl and the transponder from the same car and install all them it will work then. the computer read a signal from the transponder witch reads the key. if they do not match the computer shuts down and will not let the car start.
If you remove the computer of any car the replacement computer needs to be progammed to the car. If essential components are changed the computer will need interrogating and necessary adjustments made. Occasionally the computer will be reprogrammed by the manufacturer if there is a software revision. Lastly the computer can be programmed for performance.
This has to be reprogrammed inside the computer. Check the Internet many enthusiasts will know what software and connection you need to do this.
With some ECU's, you can take them to a company that does automotive computer work, and have it re-programmed with the necessary information to function with the new transmission. If the ECU cannot be reprogrammed, then it might need to be replaced with one that has the parameters needed to operate the engine with the different transmission. If the car had the option of manual or automatic, you can take the computer out of the donor vehicle, and it should work with your car. You might need to have it flashed (by a place that can program automotive computers) for it to accept the your car; especially if the car has a different engine or is of a different year or model. If the car never had the option of a manual transmission, and you are swapping something in from a completely different vehicle, then you might not be able reprogram the computer. You might be able to find a replacement ECU from an aftermarket supplier, which may be able to operate the engine correctly
If replacing with a different size engine ie. 3.3 to a 3.5 you should use the computer for that engine, and if it is the same engine 3.3 to a 3.3 it is not necessary.
