Employees do the work that generates the profits which allow their employer to pay taxes. But you will not find a deduction on the employees pay stub which reads, this amount deducted from your pay to cover your employer's business tax.

Does a home based business have to pay payroll taxes for an employee?

It depends on if the employee is considered a contractor meaning does the employer have any say in how results are produced and if the employee makes over $500.00 If the employee is not a contractor, then taxes need to be paid by the employer and the employee. A good place to get more information on this is a local small business association.

Does a main employer have to pay earned sick leave if an employee is injured and receiving Workers Compensation on another job?

The employer is not required by law to pay out sick pay while an employee is collecting workman's comp. It depends on the employer though. In some cases an employer may pay earned sick pay to an employee collecting workman's comp. pay as a good will gesture, especailly to an employee who has had a very serious injury and has been a long term employee who has had few or no injuries.
