At the beginning it's possible, mainly because overweight people are getting the extra exercise of moving around the mounds of fat. Unfortunately, after we loose some of the extra weight it starts to get more difficult, partially because the body goes into "famine" mode, meaning that we start to protect our calories since the body is starting to prepare for famine, and partially because we start to loose muscle mass along with the fat. That's why severe diets aren't good for you. You need to make sure you have enough protein to let you keep your muscle mass and exercise to burn the calories. Any other program doesn't work.
Most of the time, yes. And a lot of the time, obese people actually can lose weight MORE easily than a person at a normal weight, simply because they have more weight to carry around, and it burns more calories.
it depends. Does the lighter person have a quick metabolism.
Depends. A skinny person might think so A average person might not An obese person would know. There is a difference between obese and fat Fat is just extra skin that should be burned off and isn't typically fat Obese is when you are in trouble should lose weight and execerise When people ask is a fat lady really fat? The answer is no fat is just extra skin that makes you a little bigger but not obese When people ask is a obese lady really fat. The answer is yes
Yes, Just not as much as people that are in good shape can.
As all people do, a person who has problems with their weight enjoys sweet and fatty foods because of the way the foods taste. However, just because a person is obese, does not mean that they eat very sweet and fatty foods. There may be other reasons for their weight, even though they eat a well balanced diet.
Usually if you are anorexic you are not eating enough and if the person was obese and they became anorexic they would be at a normal weight for a while but then they would just get skinnier and skinnier because they cant control it because it is a disease.
Gastric Bypass srugery is only done with a doctors consent. Even just being obese is not enough to have the surgery done. A person has to be dangerously obese in order to have the operation done. If you have weight concerns, talk with your doctor.
No, 188 pounds is not a good weight for you. According to BMI (Body Mass Index) standards, you are either very close to overweight, or obese (depending on your gender). For males, those statistics are considered obese (91 out of 90 percentile, 90 being obese), and for a female, it is just below obese (85 out of 90 percentile, 90 being obese).
The brain insists on maintaining the status quo. If a person is obese, for whatever reason that may be, and he tries to diet, as all obese people do and many manage to lose some weight , maybe even a lot of weight, and keep it off for varying periods of time. All those who are overweight or obese are experts on what we should eat, so, why do we eventually put the weight back on, and always a bit more? Any loss of weight is seen by the body as starvation and starts to do many things to get the weight back to the status quo, and the brain works harder and harder to achieve this balance. Not only does it want the balance to be returned, it insists on a bit more weight be added in case of future starvation. Our brain is trying to protect us, and when we lived in caves, it did just that. I am not a medical person, but I am a strong willed person who has become obese and I am unable to maintain weight loss for long. I welcome all replies to my opinion
nope, the brain of the obese person is just like normal people. if they have something more, i guess the thought of having to eat every minute is the difference.
No. obese people have a lot more fat on them than people that are working out. So if you're working out and you're fit then you are going to lose more and look a lot skinnier than the obese person... and the obese person needs to work a lot harder then the person who's fit because they have a lot more to burn off.Alternative answer:By the fact that an obese person weighs more, and has a larger body to support, it is a logical assumption to make that an obese person 'needs' more calories to maintain the same weight. However, the amount of muscle mass a person has will also dictate how much energy is used, and this may vary substantially between obese people.
Gain 1 more pound and you are obese. To lose weight you could eat 500 calories less per day. If you did this you would be the right weight in 6 months. But I am 12 and 175lbs. Its probably just puberty!
Tell them straight up. Say it worries you, it should. Obese is a problem.. Just say it!
no you could just be heavy boned
