This just means that after you take the caliper off and remove the old brakes pad the piston rotates either clockwise or counter clockwise to make it go back in to be able to reinstall the new brake pads. There is a square shaped universal tool from autozone you can get that fits these rear brakes or sometimes you can just use a pair of pliers to rotate it. Hope this helps.
