Hello. I just purchased a Rotomaster turbo setup for a small block chevy. It has a Rajay turbo, and uses a Martin intake manifold. It is a drawthrough system, which the carburator sits on top, just like a normally aspirated carb/intake setup, but has two pipes sticking out the passenger side of intake manifold. The Martin intake is a two piece intake manifold. I did a little research and made a few phone calls. I wanted to find out how many pounds of boost the turbo puts out. I talked to this guy that works for a diesel turbo shop that rebuilds turbos. He is familiar with the Rajay turbos and can still get some parts for them. He asked how many r.p.m.'s I am producing with my engine. I said my camshaft will make power up to 7500 r.p.m.'s. He claims that the turbo would put out between 15-18 lbs. boost at the low end, and put out 25-27 lbs. boost at the high end! He said those turbos are hearty little devils. I find that hard to believe, seeing that the turbo is relatively small compared to some I seen. I read in a forum, that someone claimed that the turbo put out only 5 lbs.boost.
