IBM no longer produces hardware that is compatible with Windows '98 but it will run on a recent Apple computer within the Virtual Box software. (See links below)
i thin it might be IBM because apple have their own way of Surfing the web and stuff
The IBM Personal Computer, commonly known as the IBM PC, is the original version and progenitor of the IBM PC compatible hardware platform. It is IBM model number 5150, and was introduced on August 12, 1981. It was created by a team of engineers and designers under the direction of Don Estridge of the IBM Entry Systems Division in Boca Raton, Florida.
Apple Macintosh software will not readily run on an IBM computer.
Neither one is a particular computer (they are manufacturers, not model names), and neither has a product lineup solely compatible or incompatible with Windows 98. IBM made several workstations with PowerPC processors that obviously cannot run Windows 98, and newer Macs have Intel processors that can run Windows 98, though the hardware is not fully compatible.
IBM compatible was a term used in the eighties to describe personal computers that could run PC-DOS the IBM operating software. These days the term is redundant.
As long as one downloads the proper linux i.e. for 64-bit or 32-bit then it will run any systemOf course there could be an exception, but anything that will run a modern windows os will run linuxNext AnswerThe linux operating system is available for almost any hardware platform. Not only is it available for any platform that runs Microsoft windows. It is available also for any hardware that runs OpenVMS, (VAX, Alpha, Itanium), for the Apple computer, IBM power platform and IBM Mainframe.Since the full source of the system software is openly available, anyone interested and capable can modify it to run on any system.
Windows was not designed to run on any particular computer, but rather any computer compatible with the original IBM PC. After IBM stopped making personal computers, Windows was designed to run on any computer with an x86 compatible processor and BIOS.
No, but Windows 3.1 was used for some of the programs on IBM OS Warp 2, so it's usable with 3.1 stuff, but not on Apple PCs...
Yes. Most of the files are compatible and Apple has this terrific application called "BootCamp" that lets u run Microsoft windows on ur mac seamlessly.
