Yes either that or it can make them very very sick and you will have to get them to the vet right away and even then they might not live. NEVER give a cat aspirin or any type of medicine intended for humans. It is deadly to them.

∙ 12y agoAspirin is a cox inhibitor and classified as a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug. Cats have cox enzymes in different locations and relative proportions than humans do, so when these enzymes are blocked from working cats will have different side effects than humans. Unfortunately, one of the places where cox enzymes are more active in cats than humans is the stomch lining, producing the mucus lining that protects the stomach lining cells from stomach acid. When the mucus isn't there, the stomach acid can eat through the stomach wall and cause a potentially fatal stomach ulcer.
