∙ 13y agoCongress cannot name someone to "Nobility" considering that the U.S. is a Democratic nation and nobility is directly related with Monarchy.
"Nobility" is a social term, not a political term, in America. Family who are considered to be "Noble" would be the families of: the Kennedys, the Vanderbilts, and the Rockefellers. These are the families who have earned fortunes over many decades. Household names like Trump and Gates will soon become "Noble" names in the future.

The U.S. is not a democracy, it is a Republic.
Nobody will ever be considered in America as a person with any title of Nobility as long as the Constitution is still alive. Titles of Nobility are only referred to/used by governments with a King/Queen as the ruler of the land.
