Answer: Various religions have different ideas on how the world and all that is came to be. Creationism as such, as it has come to be known from the middle of the twentieth century exists only in Christianity, especially since it relates primarily to what could be called the scientific verification of The Bible truth of creation (although of course the presupposition of Bible truth comes first).

Answer:

Jews and Muslims also have the belief and tradition that God created the universe.

There are Creation-stories all over the world; tens of them if not hundreds. This is because the Creation was a tradition going all the way back and shared by all mankind. As time passed, most of these stories became infiltrated by idolatry, with a phantasmagoria of warring deities. It is the Torah, in Genesis, which preserves the original; and from Judaism, belief in Creation by God spread to Christianity and exists in Islam as well.See also:

What did Thomas Aquinas say about creationism?

Thomas Aquinas believed that creationism, the belief that God directly created the world and all its inhabitants, was compatible with reason. He argued that the existence of a creator was necessary to explain the order and design in the universe, and considered the idea of divine creation to be a fundamental aspect of Christian theology. Aquinas's philosophy stressed the importance of both faith and reason in understanding the world.

How has the growth of science and secularism challenged Christianity?

The growth of science has challenged certain literal interpretations of religious texts by providing natural explanations for phenomena previously attributed to divine intervention. Secularism, on the other hand, promotes a worldview independent of religious beliefs, often leading to a decrease in religious adherence. These challenges have prompted some Christians to reevaluate and adapt their perspectives to reconcile faith with scientific and secular reasoning.

Does the discovery of aliens negate the idea of creationism?

No. Because creationism is the belief a deity created life. If aliens were proved to exist, it would not negate it because there would still be no evidence to prove or disprove the fact they were also created by a deity.

What does creationism mean?

According to Wikipedia, Creationism is the religious belief that humanity, life, the Earth, and the universe were created in their original form by a deity (often the Abrahamic God of Judaism, Christianity and Islam) or deities.Initially, Creationism developed as a response by a minority of Christians to the Theory of Evolution. Its advocates attempted to have Creationism taught, in US schools, in science classes as a valid alternative to evolution. The courts blocked this attempt, on the grounds that Creationism is a topic of religion and to teach it in science classes would breach the separation of church and state. For more information, please visit: http://christianity.answers.com/theology/the-story-of-creation
