The air bag warning light can be reset by fixing the issue that caused it to go off. It can also be reset by disconnecting the battery for 10+ minutes, or using an OBD scanner to clear any codes.
If the light is on for the Grand Am Air Bag Unit, there could be a problem with the air bag. Some vehicles that have been in an accident and had the air bag deployed may need to have the air bag light reset. Disconnecting the battery for about five minutes might take care of this problem. If not, the vehicle should be taken to a dealer for service of the air bag.
You don't reset it. Take it to a garage. above must be from a pro..Try disconnecting the positive battery terminal for a minute.
Try disconnecting the battery. After a few minutes re-connect. It may reset computer. Turn light off.
Start by disconnecting the battery.
FIRST!!!!!!!!!!!!!Disconnect the neg battery cable from the battery. Then wait a few minutes before disconnecting the air bag connection.
you dont bring it in to the dealer the moduale is usually in the sterring colume and you have to take it apart to do this You can try disconnecting the battery for a min of 5 mins, make sure if your radio needs a code you have it
You have to have the right tools to do the job.... Unconnecting the battery works on some cars but not all of them
Some systems need to be reset, like disconnecting the battery for a few hours, some have a reset button, and some need a special tool(tester) to do it, also, there may be a bad sensor bad in the circuit.... the library should have a shop manual with a section on diagnsis...good luck:)
Disconnect battery and wait about 3 minutes then reconnect and any error lights should be reset
There is a problem with the SRS. Take it to a professional, for repair.
Usually the car must be taken to the dealer or a licenced airbag specialist. They have the correct tools to test and reset the bag and or sensors. But, first try disconnecting the battery on both terminals for 15 minutes and then reconecting this may reset the sensors.
