This might work, but only if paper is greased both sides. If you have run out of baking paper, greased greaseproof or brown paper would be better alternatives
Stretch clingfilm/greaseproof paper/paper over an old box tight, and cellotape it. You can make a drum beater by cellotaping a few straws (eg. 4) together.
Put a sheet of greaseproof (parchment) paper over where the wax stain is, and iron over the parchment paper with a iron on a barely warm setting. Keep ironing until the wax has melted slightly (you may need to turn the iron up slightly). Hopefully by the time the wax has warmed up, most of it should be sticking to the greaseproof paper and not your fabric.
Perhaps you are thinking of "en papillote". I believe that is usually associated with parchment rather than foil.
