Vista will allow you to run XP software. Simply right click the program installer and choose properties. Then choose the compatability tab at the top. Set it to run in XP mode and click OK. Then right click the installer again and choose run as administrator If when you put the software CD in the Vista machine it tries to autorun, cancel it. You must browse the CD for the install/setup app and then do the above instructions.

The only way I know of is right-clicking on the program, go to Properties, go to the Compatibility tab, click "Run this program in compatibility mode for" and select the closest version of windows in the box., and click OK. Note - you can also do this in Settings for All users.
