It depends on the rice. Many of the nutrients in brown rice are in the bran, which doesn't wash off easily, so washing brown rice doesn't seriously deplete the vitamins.
White rice is milled; the bran layer has been polished off, which means that most of the vitamins have been removed, also. However, most brands of white rice are enriched; they have been coated with vitamins (thiamine, niacin and folic acid), as well as iron, after milling, to restore the nutrients that were lost when the bran was polished off. The enriched coating washes off fairly easily. Many brands of enriched rice advise against washing on the label.
Parboiled rice is steamed with the husk on it before polishing, which causes some of the nutrients from the bran to be absorbed into the grains. Consequently, washing parboiled rice does not remove as much of the nutrients as washing enriched rice.
Milled white rice which is not enriched has very little of the vitamins left, so washing it doesn't make much difference in nutrition.

Nothing.
ofcourse!!
Long-grain white rice is rinsed before cooking to remove excess starch. Removing the starch makes the rice cook more evenly and it makes the cooked rice less sticky. In the U.S., if you rinse the rice, you are rinsing away vitamins, minerals, and iron. Rice is fortified with vitamins, minerals and iron that is applied on the rice. It's up to you whether you want to wash your rice before cooking it. In India we usually see that the rice is mixed with some acid boric in order to prevent the rice from insects that causes the grains to destroy so we have to remove this powder forwhich we have to wash the rice before cooking
White rice have lost almost all the Vitamins in polishing the rice. Only if rice is 'parboiled' before polishing it contains some vitamins. Rice is low in proteins and high in carbohydrates. Rice being cereal, it must be combined with pulses.
It is the rinsing of rice before cooking at least twice with tap water.
Boiled rice has some healthy benefits. It contains vitamins and minerals, and does give you some energy. If you use brown rice it also has fiber.
carbohydrates, fiber, minerals, vitamins, proteins.
Arsenic is found in pesticides and fertilizers. In rice, it is absorbed through the water that fills the fields. Some rices, such as basmati and white rice have less. Rinsing and draining your rice before eating it will remove about one third of the arsenic.
Yes. Brown basmati rice has a lower GI and more vitamins then white and it's a decent carbohydrate source.
