Work permits are issued by both the state and the local school district. Depending on the states regulations on that permit; you might have to wait. Some states require a teacher or student counselor to prove that your grades are in good standing and if that is the case you will need to wait until school is back in session. ;)

∙ 13y agoYou need to have depending on the country you live in, a social insurance card, or a social security card (U.S.) which you can get when you are around 15 years old or perhaps younger, whether you go to school or not. There are many kids still going to school who have part time jobs, and all you have to have is SIN or SSC as stated before . You can obtain these via mail, if you Google your government's service centre and follow the instructions, or go to your local manpower office and they will help you fill out the necessary forms and tell you what the nominal fee is, $10, when I got it, but it's likely $25 now. I will check and edit this later. this is not a difficult thing to acquire in either the U.S. or Canada provided you're legally allowed to work in the country. It's easy peasy.
