Does spraying your hair with hairspray before straightening it keep it straight all day?

My hairdresser used this technique on my hair when she was straightening it because she said that it would make my hair stay straight longer and it worked because for two days, I didn't really need to go through my hair and re straighten it as much because it held it straight very well. (Take in note, I have very curly thick hair) but according to some website it says to be careful because hair spray is flammable and with the hot iron, it might burn your hair off.

i have curly frizzy hair and i hate it. i love it when its straight but i hate the damage it makes. i recommend straightening it once a week which is what i do. many people say straightening it every day or every other day is not bad but it is. so i recommend doing it once a week to prevent damage to the hair.i also recommend using heat protective serums/creams and using the shampoo and conditioner for your hair type***** most importantly: make sure hair is completely dry before straightening your hair. this will cause more damage if you straighten when wet. do not put gel/hairspray/esc. when you are about to straighten your hair.one more thing: i recommend taking a shower and washing your hair before you straighten it so your head will not become greasy and need a wash. so wash it first!hope i helped (:
