Timing chain or most of the time doesn't need servicing

You dont they are meant to be in the car for the life of the engine. But you can buy a timing light and check the timing.

The 1996 Nissan Maxima timing marks can be found on the main pulley, on the front of the engine. The timing marks will be scattered around the outside of the pulley.

how to remove and install water pump on 1996 Nissan maximaI just had mine done, the part is about $110 from Nissan, aftermarket is about $90. the labour alone is what drives the price. Nissan told me it would take 7 hours to do @ $100 per hour. I went to an independent mechanic and he said it would take about 6 hours. But he didnt charge me 100 per hour. its an internal water pump under the timing chain. ***If the car has over 100,000 miles, ask what is the additional cost to re-tension the timing chain (the timing chain stretches over time).

There are marks on the chain that coordinate with marks on the timing gear. Make sure these line up when putting on the timing chain, and you should be good to go. Getting to the timing chain is the real battle.

hi I am working on a nissan maxima 1996, I put a transmission in and it's not starting, the antitheft light is blinking very fast.

This will depend on what year Nissan Maxima you have, because they differ for their location. Ask another question and be specific about the year, for example, "Where is the flasher located on a 1996 Nissan Maxima?"

The 3.8 liter V6 engine in a 1996 Ford Mustang has a timing CHAIN

No it does not. Not until 1999.

Yes it does, I jus had mine replaced after the water pump went bad...also have them check the tensioner for the chain to make sure it "pumps up" to keep tension on the chain...the guides also just in case the chain had some damage...easier to check while you are in there than have to go back in... Answer to timing belt for 1996 AltimaThey don't have timing belts. At least mine doesn't. Double check your manual or call a Nissan dealer & ask to be sure. There is not a timing belt on this model or any year before or after this model. You have a 2.4L engine with a timing chain and there is no reason to replace the timing chain unless it is making noise. The chain is at least rated at a 7-10 hour job and should not be considered for repair due to the damage that can arise if not careful.

see the egr valve location on the 1999 Nissan Maxima-it should be very similar.

yes all of the rims up to 09' can fit on any max before it
