The 3.1 litre V6 engine in a 1997 Buick Century has a timing CHAIN
your timing marks are incorrect the timing is off. You'll need to reinstall the timing chian with the right timing marks ask a professional for assistance.
The timing is electronic and is not adjustable.
Timing chain. Almost all of the GM v-6 products have a timing chain. The DOHC 3.4 and some of the caddi motors are the only exception. I have never seen a 60* v-6 GM timing chain fail. But that doesnt mean you shouldn't replace them every 200k miles...
what does the grand am have in it now
yes.. i have a 99 grand am gt come stock 3400 and i put a 3100 in it.. runs perfect..
The head bolt torque specifications, for your 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix, is 160 pounds per square inch. The head bolts should be torqued in 40 pound intervals.
it should, but you may want to check with a dealer, or local salvage yards. they shoul have interchange info.
timing is preset at factory,no adjustments, the sensors send info to pcm to control timing and fuel.
