Per directive, dating from the Vietnam War, all (FORMER) US Army fixed-wing attack aircraft come under the jurisdiction of the USAF; this would include the A-10 Thunderbolt II (Wart-hog).
So to clarify, the Army does not fly the A-10. It does however, in conjuction w/the Marines and any other ground assets, use the A-10's everyday in close air support. Ask almost any soldier/marine on the ground what their favorite plane is to have in a fight, and it will undoubtably be the Warthog!
One can purchase a used BSA A10 at used dealerships, or through the classifieds. There are many places online where people sell their BSA A10s as well.
