No. It is made of a kind of plastic that is impregnated with various kinds of contraceptive. The dose is very low and is released very slowly into your body over the length of time you have it. It is not more effective when you first get it. Eventually the effectiveness will wear off, but there have been extensive tests carried out on these implants and the lifespan is worked out to make sure it won't expire before you get it removed. Unlike oral contraceptives you don't have to worry about stomach upsets and I believe there are fewer conflicts with other medications than with OCP. Hope this helps. L
The copper IUD probably does not lose effectiveness with time. The hormonal IUDs become less effective after the period of their useful life.
If the IUD is not in the uterus, it has likely fallen out.
Yes it can. The sand is jagged and over time with the water running through it will become smooth and lose its effectiveness. Normal use change every 5 years, heavy use change every 3 years.
ten billion years a go
ten billion years a go
If you go to full term the IUD will probably come out when the baby is delivered.
Go immediately to the doctor to have this assessed. Any pain or discharge associated with an internal device such as an IUD or coil should be checked immediately. Infections and physical damage from these can be permanently damaging or fatal.
A lot.
I don't think you should worry but it would be a good idea to just have a checkup and check in with your doctor.
it absolutely can you could be allergic to some of the compnents of the device go to the doctor and have it checked out
Normaly at 12 you have at least 6 years of growth to go. and as you grow you will lose the pupy fat, especialy with a bit of exercise and healthy dirt,
Not all birth control products IUD's etc are perfect but go to drug store and get a test strip package. Next I wonder why no period for three years is it because of age or illness if not I would see a doctor as soon as you can. There are many birth control clinics that do the tests for free and dont ever give name out. You may be in menupause but there must be some concern or other signs why you think you could be.
I suggest you go to your doctor. Mirena IUD have many side effects and cramps is one of them.
