no i ain't never heard of such a thing you do not have to lift the cab just undo the tranny bolts and remove the driveshaft and the cross member slide the trans back a couple inches,oh and make sure all the plugs(electronics) and linkages are detached then slide out that's it...
The tranny has to be taken down or just slid back to get to the bolts on the flywheel to take them out and get the flywheel out.
take the tranny out and the flywheel is right on back of the engine, unbolt the flywheel and take it off and install new flywheel with new bolts and torque them down.
First remove the tranny and flywheel. Then remove the old seal and put the new one in. Then put everything else back on.
take driveshaft out, take starter out, remove tranny inspection cover, unbolt torque converter from flywheel, take shifter linkage off the tranny, remove all the bolts holding tranny to the engine, take tranny coolant lines off the tranny, now your ready to drop the tranny out.
You will have to slide / move the transmission back enough to get your hand up in between the flywheel and toqure converter so you can remove the flywheel bolts. You do not have to compleatly remove the transmission. I do it all the time.
Remove the starter and the dust shield. Remove the four bolts (spaced every 90 degrees around the flywheel) and then the torque converter will be loose.
Take out the driveshaft, pull shifter cables off the tranny and unbolt the tranny from the engine , take tranny fluid lines off the tranny and have floor jack under the tranny, take the inspection plate off and take the bolts out of the torque converter that holds it to the flywheel and it's out.
1. Remove driveshaft. 2. Disconnect Starter. 3. Disconnect all electrical wires on tranny and TV cable linkage. 4. Disconnect exhaust crossover on driver side, Remove Lower bolts from tranny to engine. 5. Remove flywheel to Torque convertor bolts (4). 6. Remove tranny crossmember. 7. Place Jack under tranny, Remove upper bolts from tranny to engine. 8. Move tranny over to side and remove oil cooler lines. 9. Remove transmission. I did one today in less than 2 hours. Of course that was with a lift, air tools, and a tranny jack! Good luck, if you dont know what you are doing this can take more than 2 days of work! later
You will have to take out either the engine or tranny to get to it.
Separate the tranny and engine...It's in there.
Most likely yes
The flywheel for the FWD tranny should have 6 bolts. The turbo flywheel has 100 teeth and the nonturbo should have 106. The AWD flywheel should have 7 bolts.
