On obd2 the rev limiter is in the ecm and works by dropping off cylinders to maintain rev limit.
It's deff not fun to do man. Will smoke or moisture out of exhaust oil will be on side of engine from it leaking off.
hi you must use k-can commander made in chine to read the log in code to ture the immo off using the prog. the immo off in motor ecu.

Low or no oil pressure. Can be low of oil, a failed oil pump, or other problem.
Twist and pull. It was easy in my MK5 TSI but you have the FSI. Pull off the engine cover. If needed you may need an oil wrench to pull it off. But make sure when you put it back on you only hand twist it.

where the header tank is for the radiator there is a lid that needs a flat screwdriver to take off. to the bottom right of the header tank. bit hard to explain that.. ha. but its there.
Remove side covers on rear ashtray and lift out unit. The adjustment nut needs a 10mm spanner. Just about take up any slack when handbrake is off. Don't over tighten.
the ecu is under the wheel well. you have to take the wheel well covers off from the underside,(plastic inner) of the passenger side and the ecu should be right there
