It'll run until the battery runs out, that's it. If the object of the exercise is to run the motor, it'd run longer if you ignored the dynamo.

Does it start = battery has charge but not sufficient to turn starter. Either battery shot (try restarting after a run) or starter needs overhaul/replacement. My First thought is starter motor brushes or starter relay. Actually, if your battery is not the problem you could simply need to replace the starter relay.
