Yes, definitely. Lower tire pressure increases rolling resistance and hinders fuel economy. Deflate your bike tire by a fair percentage say 50 and drive around, it isn't easy.
No. A car will get better mileage with the correct tire pressure.
Tire wear, vehicle handling and gas mileage.
Yes to a degree. As the pressure is increased, there is less tire contact with the road surface (grip is reduced accordingly) and gas milaege improves slightly.
A tire can effect your gas mileage by a lot. If you do not have a inflated tire you can get 2-3 mpg less than use usually get.
Always!!!Check your tire pressure, according to sticker on driverside door jam. Hot and cold temperature can change tire pressure and effect gas milage. Occassionally, do a tune up. For example: Change engine oil, sparkplug, distributor cap and rotor, etc..
bad gas mileage
incorrect tire inflation
No, it will decrease gas mileage.
A few things can effect gas mileage over sized tires, tire pressure, spark plugs taht need to be replaced, over due engine oil change. Then again it may be the size of engine in it, typically 4 cylinder get better mileage than 6 cylinder motor. It coold also have to with the speed you are driving. I recommend a highway tire for your best gas mileage. The strength of a tire is referring to the tread size, the larger the tread the larger the tire. Hence, the less gas mileage obtained.
