the oil is a liquid at ambient temperature /some oils arent
do not expect to use more than 50% oil 50% diesel mix without major mods to fuel system
Sometimes it is used as a substitute for butter.
There are kerosene-based fuels (such as JP8), which can be used in diesel motors. There are also biofuels, which can be made from grain-based products, that'll work in diesel motors.

Diesel engines work in a different way to petrol in that they work on pressure to ignite warm diesel as opposed to petrol engines which have spark plugs. in order to work, there can be no air, air wont ignite!!
A school.
It won't, even a mixture of gasoline and diesel will not work. May I add that running petrol in a diesel will destroy that diesel engine.
