Does water in cake spoil the cake?

No, I have been down to where I wanted a cake and had all the ingredients but milk. I used water and added an extra bit of butter and an extra egg, but the cake turned out very well, perhaps not as rich, but delicious none the less.

Also if you are a coffee drinker and you use Non-Dairy creamer in your coffee, you can actually add about 1/4 cup of the Non-Dairy Creamer to your dry ingredients and use water in place of the milk. Again, not as rich, but still very delicious.
