NO
Dark rum is often aged longer, but not necessarily and often has a caramel coloring added. The calories in it are based on the alcohol content. Higher proof = more alcohol = more calories, but the color really has nothing to do with it.
Bottom line - Enjoy the one you prefer the most.
And stay away from sugary mixers, they add the most to your calorie count.

Sugar itself is colorless in solution so there is no relation between the color and the sugar content. Most liquors (e.g. vodka, gin, whisky, rum) have little to no sugar anyway; however liqueurs (e.g. amaretto, Kahlua, triple sec, Jaegermeister) are sweetened and generally less alcoholic than liquors.
