Does white smoke from the tailpipe mean you need to refurbish the engine?
The engine is burning coolant caused from a blown head gasket or cracked head if you are loosing coolant. If you have a turbo charger the seal can go out and cause a Lot of smoke from burning oil..
I'm not a mechanic / technician but if white smoke is coming out of your tailpipe with the engine warmed up it sounds like you are getting engine coolant into one or more of your engine cylinders . ( bad head gasket / warped cylinder head ) Is the coolant / antifreeze mix also going into your engine oil )

White Black or Blue ? Excessive white smoke out the tailpipe is a good indicator of coolant being ingested into the engine, usually by a failing intake or head gasket. Excessive black smoke is indicating to much fuel is delivered to the cylinders and the engine cannot burn it all. Excessive blue smoke indicated the engine is burning oil for some reason.
