you need to talk to all of the agrivated people, talk to the guy in the back, find Yhe martial artist and talk to him, talk to the guy in the back(again), go to the tower of trades (east), BOW (new party trick) in front of the door, go to the top, find Jack of Alltrades, battle him (Master of Nu'un), get a fig,and go back to Alltades Abby. Now you can change vocation.

You can change your proffesion to anything when you finish the quests at Alltrades Abby. I't close-ish to the start of the game. The Alltrades Abbey is near the blue tree that you can summon the Starflight Express at. Once you save Abbot Jack from the fygg that made him a monster at the top of the tower etc. Then you can go back to him at the Alltrades Abbey. Then you can change your vocation to a Mage. WARNING: When you change Vocation, then you will start at level one. But you can change back to your old vocation and go from that level whenever. Also, you sometimes can't wear the equipment you could before.

you go to the room with the guy where you got the request in the first place. after that you go to the roof with the guy who is fishing and jump into the center of the water (a "!" will appear over your head). by that time, they will have already have chopped up the fygg, that the lizzard will eat, turn into a giant dragon-like monster thinking he is a human, and take the queen into a well, where you have to go through it and fight him and there will be a cutscene and you will get the fygg.
