Problem may be in the steering column (turn signal stalk)
Have an electrician check the wiring that goes to the brake lights in the trunk of the car.
Check with your driver's manual, it will show you where the dash illumination control is.
The fuse i underneath the driver seat and under the controller
Engine off turn key forward until lights go on. On the firewall in the corner by the driver is a blinker box. carefully remove the top press the button and hold for 5 seconds the light should come on. release and repeat .the light should go off. the codes are erased now. To check start car or put the pigtail into hole two. press button for three seconds and release. the red light will blink the code 111 is no codes.
What it usually turns out to be is a faulty turn signal relay. In more rare instances, there is a short in the turn signal switch in the column. The column switch has tail, brake, and blinker lights wired into it. Good luck
It has been my experience that when the blinker comes on but the lights don't blink there is one or more bulbs burned out. If that is not the case check the flasher.

The tail lights are on a separate wiring than the blinker/brake lights. Look for a blown fuse or a broken/loose wire.
