Driver side brake light out in 1998 Monty Carlo but the rear lights come on when lights are turned on and blinker still works how do I fix I have aready changed the bulb once and still the same prob.?

Problem may be in the steering column (turn signal stalk)

What it usually turns out to be is a faulty turn signal relay. In more rare instances, there is a short in the turn signal switch in the column. The column switch has tail, brake, and blinker lights wired into it. Good luck

The tail lights are on a separate wiring than the blinker/brake lights. Look for a blown fuse or a broken/loose wire.
