The EGR vent visors were originally designed and produced in Australia. The company was founded and is still owned by the Horwill family. Currently Rod Horwill heads the company. They are sold in the USA through a subsidiary of the Australian company.
When the EGR vent visors were initially imported into the USA they were sold by David and Jeff Wade through the Wade Products company. When the products started to be successful, EGR dumped the Wade brothers after they used them to kick off the product in the USA. The Wades then started producing their own vent visors in Utah. Recently the Wade family sold the marketing right to their vent visors to Westin Automotive. They are still marketed as the Westin Wade vent visors.
When the EGR vent visors were first brought to the US market they were the very wide (about 6") visors. This style was never popular in the USA. Ultimately, EGR copied other US manufacturers of vent visors and made more narrow models that were more appealing in the USA. Today they make a wide range of vent visors including wide, narrow and in-channel.
