The key may have been to close to a key from another vehicle and upset the code. If so, either wait several hours or there is a way to reset it which I am still trying to find. If none of those things work than the module has to be replaced.
If the anti-theft will not let a 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4. 0 start, it will need disabled. The owners manual will instruct you on how to disable it.
Well, to start with, the check engine light is to let you know that you are having a problem with the car. It means to go to a technician and have it checked out. Also the RECALL LETTER is to let you know that the National Transportation Safety Board has determined that there is a condition (defect) that needs immediate attention. All of this is to keep you from breaking down and having to walk.
Have it checked for codes. There will be a misfire code that will let you know what cylinder has the problem.
I just had the same problem with my '91 wrangler. It would sputter after it was warm and then not start once engine was off. I had to let it cool down for a good 2 hours. It was electrical. I needed a new crank shaft censor. After that she ran like an angel. I also got an injection flush. Good luck.
Check the starter relay. Also try to start it in Neutral. Let me know!
check the cranckshaft sensor and alarm system
If it stays on and jeep doesn't start your truck and both keys need to be reprogramed thru the dealer, they are the only one's that can reprogram the keys and computer, short story the jeep is not reading the chip in the keys to let the computer turn on
That is a LOW OIL senser. If engine is really low on oil that senser will not let the engine start.
Are there any numbers assigned to the specific fuse slots? I have 3 fuse box diagrams for jeep. You would have to look and compare. Found in Chiltons manual, chassis eleclrical, chapter 6. Schematics provided for entire engine electrical also.
Start the bike up and ride it or let it idle for a few minutes to war the oil up in the engine. Then kill the engine and loosen the drain plug on the bottom of the engine. Let all of the oil drain out and replace and tighten (careful to not overtighten) the drain plug.
Because the engine gets too hot. Let it cool down before you start it up again. Poor water on it.
Park the vehicle on a level surface. Drain the oil and replace the filter. Pour in 4.5 quarts of the correct weight oil. Start the engine and let run for 1 minute. Shut engine off and wait 30 minutes. Check the oil level and add as necessary to fill to the full mark on the dipstick. You now know the capacity.
