Short answer: By using a varactor diode as the capacitance in a parallel resonant ckt, by changing the reverse bias voltage you change the value of capacitance which in turn changes the resonant frequency. This makes a tuneable resonant ckt.

When a parallel LC circuit is tuned to resonance the tank circuit draws?

very low current

Why a parallel resonant circuit is called as rejecter circuit?

As a parallel resonance circuit only functions on resonant frequency, this type of circuit is also known as an Rejecter Circuit because at resonance, the impedance of the circuit is at its maximum thereby suppressing or rejecting the current whose frequency is equal to its resonant frequency.

Why is parallel resonant circuit called a rejector circuit?

because at resonance frequency in LRC parallel circuit, impedance is high, so it minimize the current. thus we say its a rejector circuit .

At a frequency below the resonant frequency parallel circuit is?

A parallel resonant circuit has low impedance, when non resonant; however the impedance rises sharply, as the circuit comes to resonance.

How does series resonance differ from parallal resonance?

In series resonance, the inductance and the capacitance are connected in series, but in parallel resonance they are connected in parallel. In series resonance, at an input signal with a frequency equal to resonance frequency, the total impedance of both inductive and capacitive elements together is zero (or they appear as short circuits) unlike the parallel resonance case in which it is infinite and they appear as an open circuit.

Why parallel resonance circuit is called tank circuit?

traditionit is often used (like a storage tank for water is) to store resonant energy in AC circuits.

When the circuit is said to be in resonance?

For a particular frequency if the current or the voltage of the circuit is Maximum or Minimum then that circuit is said to be in resonance .

When a parallel LC circuit is tuned to resonance will the current be at a maximum or a minimum?

Inside the circuit loop between the inductor and capacitor the current will be at maximum. Outside the circuit the current through the LC tank circuit will be at minimum. It depends on where you are measuring it.

Inductive reactance is equal to capacitive reactance?

yes, they are equal at only one condition i.e. when the circuit containing R,L and C in series or in parallel behave as a purely resistive circuit. This condition occur only at resonance.

In a series RLC circuit at frequencies above resonance is the circuit capacitive or inductive?

in series you XL, voltage leads the current, and in Parallel current leads the voltage. so your answer should reflect on this theory.
