Cell phone, iPod, laptop, PDA, GPS, giant flat TV, top of the line sound system, and so on owned by the same person.

The reason I suggest that is that an ipod is a want not a need. Giant flat screen TVs are nice but not at all needed. A GPS is handy, but a map is just as easy to use. Laptops and cell phones are considered necessary however people have been surviving just fine for centuries with out them.

An example of false wants and excessive materialism could be someone who constantly seeks out trendy gadgets or designer clothes despite already having plenty of functional items. They may feel a temporary sense of satisfaction or status from acquiring these things, but it does not lead to true fulfillment or lasting happiness. Over time, this behavior can lead to financial strain, environmental impact, and a lack of appreciation for what truly matters in life.
