Counter clockwise
The power steering unit and the alternator are both driven by the serpentine belt. Loosen the tensioner pulley and the serpentine belt will become loose. Put the new serpentine belt on and tighten the tensioner pulley.
On the front of the engine. It keeps the belt tight.
The easiest way to loosen the tensioner is to use an automatic belt tensioner. This can be used on a serpentine belt which is connected to every pulley on the engine.belt.
it should be very similar to my car. there should be a nut on the belt tensioner you loosen that up don't remove it then on the top a little slanted where the tensioner is there is a bolt looking thing just turn it and it should raise the tensioner up and you can remove the old belt or install a new one. it should be the same as for the power steering pump.
It has a serpentine belt with a built in tensioner. You can't tighten it. If it is loose, it needs replacing or the idler pulley is defective, or both.
You need to loosen the belt tensioner. There is a large bolt that needs to be loosened in the center of the tensioner pulley. Then the small vertical bolt is turned in the direction to loosen the belt. After the tensioner is loose replace the belt and retension it.
Loosen the tensioner pulley. When the tensioner pulley is loose the belt will come off. Put the new belt on and tighten the tensioner pulley.
Loosen the tensioner pulley. The tensioner pulley will slide to the right. This will loosen the alternator belt. So it can be removed.
Place a breaker bar on the lug/hole on the tensioner; then pry against the tensioner.
Loosen the belt tensioner and take the old belt off. Put the new one on and let the tensioner back in position. If you don't have a tensioner, you'll have to loosen the alternator and ac compressor adjusting bolts.
Depends. The 3.o engine has 2 belts. One serpentine and one regular ...you will see the differ by what they power. The smaller (regular belt) poweres the A/c compressor has a tensioner. Look for a bracket with a bolt on top. As you are looking at the engine it will be on the right side. Loosen this bolt and the belt will come loose. Then just slide the belt off. Reinstall in reverse. Place tension on the belt (should not movemore than 1 inch when tight). Th serpentine (larger belt is basically done the same way. Look for the tensioner. Loosen it and the belt will come loose... Hope this helps.
Loosen the tensioner (It's the only pulley out of 7 that is not attached to a unit) by using a 15MM wrench, then loosen the tensioner screw on the upper left of the tensioner bracket (15MM as well), until you can remove the old belt, replace w/new belt and tighten screw then center tensioner bolt. Be careful of ADVANCE AUTO PARTS.....They like to give you the wrong belt. A good belt to use is the DRIVE RITE serpentine belt (Part No. 950K6), assuming you have a 4.0Ltr engine. Hope this helps!
