Find your main fuse box and examine the fuses. You can usually tell by looking at the fuses. Put the same fuse number/color back in if you find a blown one.
sorry to interrupt. What make was your magna? I have got 2004 TL. And I got no idea where to find the lighter port..
Does a 94 Saturn have a fuse on the cigarette lighter. Mine stopped working. Where is this fuse? There is no direction on where to find a fuse if in fact there is a fuse.
I need to know two things------1--I have a 1991 Dodge Spirit-Where on the fuse panel is the fuse that controls the cigarette lighter i t does not show it oMn the cover?-#-2---my blower stopped working, I get good heat on all settings. What can I check I checked the fuse, and it is good, could I have a loose wire somewhere? Mike
There is another fuse box (all minifuses) located under the dash on the drivers side, there is a 20 amp fuse that works both the radio and lighter there
not 100% sure that this is the same as 96 model but found out on mine there isn't such a convectional definition. basically pluged a ceramic heater 200w into my cigarette lighter which worked for few seconds and then stopped. checked all the fusses and all of them were ok. managed to pull out the cigarette lighter with the plug and checked the connector. with the ignition on tested the connector and noticede there was power at the connector but on the body of the plug there was a transistor that would have acted as the fuse and looked that it hade taken the strain!I am going to take it to a electronical shop to have it replaced. i belive the cigarette lighter not to be used for accesories that require "fuses" more than 15A. heater i used needed 17A or higher!.Answernot 100% sure that this is the same as 96 model but found out on mine there isn't such a convectional definition. basically pluged a ceramic heater 200w into my cigarette lighter which worked for few seconds and then stopped. checked all the fusses and all of them were ok. managed to pull out the cigarette lighter with the plug and checked the connector. with the ignition on tested the connector and noticede there was power at the connector but on the body of the plug there was a transistor that would have acted as the fuse and looked that it hade taken the strain!I am going to take it to a electronical shop to have it replaced. i belive the cigarette lighter not to be used for accesories that require "fuses" more than 15A. heater i used needed 17A or higher!.
Pull out the little drawer under your dashboard and its under that, and on the back of the drawer you will find spare fuses and fuse holder. Mine stopped working today and my son changed it out for me. Lighter now works. Mine is a 15amp fuse. Hope this helps.
Probably a bad element on the lighter itself. the bad news is lighter & housing usually don't come separate. The good news is they are cheap & easy to install. Diameter most fairly universal. Rear housing unscrews & is a 1 wire hookup (most) Auto parts retailers have universals for like 10.00 (US)
The adds by cigarette companyhave been banned as it causes cancer and to warn the public.
FIND THE BLOWN FUSE AND REPLACE IT!!!!
Check circuit breaker or fuseable link.
sounds like a loose ground somewhere. good luck finding it, would be easier to rewire it all.
Check power to receptacle if none Check fuses If you have power maybe lighter element replacement available at Wal-Mart or auto parts on the my 2002 impala there is a fuse on the passenger side just above the aux fuse that controls the driver side cigarette lighter. the fuse that is listed in the manual on the driver side fuse panel does not connect to the lighter. a continuity check between the fuse panel and the lighter confirms that. Let Me tell you friend... My '03 impala has a bad cig/ltr socket. After half my hair came out I replaced it and stopped letting pennies and dimes fall into it. The aux pwr. socket won't work without the cig/ltr socket in the circuit or it's fuse being blown. Why the two circuits are tied in this manner.?. I don't know.
